Number of cooperatives operating after acquiring approval from Division Cooperative Office Kathmandu has reached 3,017. According to the information provided by Division Office, 535 cooperatives have been added in the Capital during the past six months. As of last fiscal year, number of cooperatives in operation includes 2,853 savings and credit cooperatives, 369 multipurpose cooperatives, 52 agriculture cooperatives, 27 diary cooperatives, 24 users' cooperatives, 23 health cooperatives, five education cooperatives, four communication cooperatives, one each related to tea, bee and hydro while 13 cooperatives have obtained license to work in printing sector.
